Map projector concept Maptop
The Maptor ought to be made a compulsory device for all travelers – after all, having the luxury of a projected map is stuff dreams are made of, and this concept lets you check out your current location thanks to its built-in GPS capability, showing where you are on the projected map thanks to a big red arrow, allowing you to get your bearings right before charting the next step to take in order to reach your intended destination. It would still be wise to tote around a plain old 2D paper map in your back pocket since you never know how long the battery on this can last, considering the relatively small size and projector lens which could blow ant any time.

Good luck getting a hand-held projector bright enough to show an image on a sidewalk in sunlight.
Or you could just use a gps, a smartphone, a notepad….
Nice concept, too bad it’s not yours.
Called a Pico Projector. Try a google search and you’ll see that all you’ve done is rename an object that already exists.

Another gizmatchi nobody needs. Soon no one will be able to read a map or use a compass.
Cool but not really practical these days. 75% of cellphone users have smartphones, which have built in gps/map systems.
I guess though, the benefit would be not having to pay roaming charges. But foregoing that, will users of this product have to buy out of country map data?
I’m iffy on the concept.
This would be cool if it was embedded into a phone or was an attachment for an iTouch or iPhone. I don’t see many people wearing this around their necks.
